Swift Requests Swift Strategic Prayer Requests… a prayer guide as you pray for InterGlobal and the people InterGlobal is assisting online. According to Dr. Howard Hendricks, Professor at Dallas
Theological Seminary, “We live in a day of unprecedented
opportunity for penetrating the cultures of our world with the gospel
of Jesus Christ. Yet our ability to seize this moment may stand
or fall on how well the church equips leaders for the task.”

Our prayer is that You will:
We need to establish an income stream from tuition, so that we can pay a stipend to e-teachers so they can dedicate quality time to training online. Lord, help this to become a reality. Raise-up the funding needed. Inspire men and women to become major donors so that InterGlobal can move out. We would like to: (1) Travel to key metro centers in the Latin world and establish an InterGlobal presence. (2) Sponsor regional, onsite training events to train the trainers (3) Plant computerized learning centers all over the Latin world, starting with key metropolitan areas, so that learners can study online – without owning a pc. Make this possible, oh Lord. Inspire donors to contribute and help do the InterGlobal vision.

II. How to Pray… to make InterGlobal more effectiveA. The InterGlobal ministry. Pray we accomplish well what we do, and that it be God’s plan for us.
"e-Preparing Latin-world Christian leadersfor more effective ministry accomplishments." What IG does: Interactive internet-based learning by ministry leaders for ministry leaders. 1. Train teachers to teach on the web. 2. Provide access to delivery of learning experiences on the web. 3. Promote and organize for web learning by ministry leaders.
InterGlobal...is a global access teaching co-op, with a vision of electronically training e-teachers, enabling Latin world leaders to teach their own courses online, preparing e-curriculum, and modeling e-training on an e-platform: Return to Directory Our goals in E-teaching: be effective in communication, able to answer student questions, generate discussion amongst classmates, create a community of learners, provide instant access to tons of material, instigate strategic study projects and helpful research, oversee study groups, provide a forum for timely discussion of focused thought, provide timely access to feedback (to and from student and teacher, groups or individually), generate local mentors for online students. See article: LONG-RANGE GOALS of Instituto InterGlobal; and APPENDIX.

B. The locations being targeted: the Latin world! 3,000,000 Grassroots Evangelical Leaders in the Latin World Specifically, we are aiming at those most likely to have internet access… leaders in large metropolitan areas: Mexico City, Quito, Lima, Buenos Aires, Spain, and Los Angeles. See article: TARGET STUDENT BODY Our promoting of InterGlobal training is all internet…email and website – and networking. Return to Directory
C. How we can pray for those whom InterGlobal seeks to train:

D. What we can ask God to do to make IG’s evangelism, training and discipling more effective? 1. EVANGELISM a. Pray our IG website will effectively evangelize! b. Pray for a course on evangelism to be developed…so believers will be empowered by His Spirit to utilize effective tools and become motivated to do the work of an evangelist.
2. TRAINING. a. Pray for the continued effective teaching teachers in our eTeacher training series, How To Teach On The Internet. This class trains the trainers! We are developing a core of eTeachers who will begin to teach their own classes online. b. Pray that key leaders will register and complete our teacher training APE101 course. c. Pray that e-teachers will be effective teachers. Example: get the right mix of relevant material and not overload students with "non-essential" studies, etc.
3. DISCIPLING a. Pray that church leaders will begin to mentor their local leaders – utilizing the online classes for input, and mentoring locally to disciple. b. Pray that an e-class on mentoring will be developed. Return to Directory
E. How we can pray for the local churches being equipped in the Latin World:

Article: InterGlobal TARGET STUDENT BODY In Latin America
According to Timothy Warham, engineer at HCJB in Ecuador, Jose Gonzalez of Semilla and Regent University has a cool diagram (year 2000) of the Latin church which segments the Latin America "market" as follows:
General Latin Population 600,000,000
Evangelicals 60,000,000 Grassroots Evangelical Leaders 3,000,000
Current Primary Leaders 150,000 Current & Emerging Intermediate Leaders 15,000 Current Key Leaders 750 World-Class Leaders 250 Return to Directory
The issue for InterGlobal is "who do we target?" The bottom three categories could be expected to have WWW access, but the majority of them will be able to get to the USA or some national institution for higher education. The target for us would therefore appear to be the masses: 60M regular Christians and their 3M grassroots leaders.
According to Ralph Winter, most education of church leaders is missing the real target, which should be those who cannot conform to traditional seminary and bible institute schedules, locations and costs. Internet training by InterGlobal should aim to teach these 3,000,000 leaders, those hidden within the 60M regular Christians.
How many of these three million Latin American evangelical leaders will have access to the internet over the next ten years is another question. The need to broadly establish study centers is evident. If every local church had a computerized study center, then every church member would become a potential student. Sixty million students is a huge potential student body! Lets get to work!

1. STAFF. Recruit and train the necessary IG organizational staff. 2. FUNDING. Raise the necessary funding to enable the ministry goals to be accomplished. 3. WEBSITE. Further develop the IG website to provide access to greater quantities of regional-language ministry resources. 4. WEB RESOURCES. Establish a growing digital library of regional-language ministry and theological resources… primarily through web access (and perhaps CD). 5. TRAIN THE TRAINERS. Via internet – teach teachers how to e-teach. 6. E-CLASSES. Provide low-cost e-classes for institutions, churches, organizations and individuals. Provide specific skills training in strategic ministry arenas. 7. E-TEACHERS. Recruit a growing e-staff of trained e-teachers that utilize InterGlobal to teach their classes. 8. STRATEGIC ALLIANCES. Form enabling arrangements with educational institutions, church denominations, and ministry organizations that will utilize InterGlobal to facilitate greater use of e-training.
1. Train multiple educators to be e-teachers. 2. Provide e-class delivery at low cost. 3. Enable regional training organizations to incorporate DE into their programs. 4. Generate interest among educators and trainers through onsite presentations, training in DE concepts and examples of DE courses currently available. 5. Demonstrate how DE technologies and methods can assist in meeting regional training needs and develop models that can be used worldwide. 6. Contribute to regional training goals through appropriate course selection and development. Return to Directory

The Implications Of Not Doing This ProjectThe MAF Eurasia Distance Education Project asked the question: What are the implications of not doing this project? And this same reply could apply to InterGlobal: What are the implications of not doing the ministry of InterGlobal? Here is the MAF reply:
§ Weakening of the existing and emerging Church due to a poor understanding of God’s word. 2 Timothy 2:15 admonishes us to “accurately handle the word of truth.” There is a current and rapidly growing lack of training opportunities for national believers. § Inadequate completion of Christ’s commands. 1 Thessalonians 5:19 admonishes the Church, “Do not put out (quench) the Spirit’s fire.” The Lord is at work in the …region, yet without adequate training, the Church may well fail in its call to “[teach] them to obey all that [Jesus] commanded”. § Inadequate training. Many national believers who need and are desirous of training will have no opportunity for Biblical instruction. § Shortage of leaders. Many churches may not mature and reproduce due to a shortage of leaders. § A strategic opportunity will be forfeited. The Church should be the primary change agent in this world, harnessing cultural developments for the sake of fulfilling its “great commission”. Nothing has etched itself more deeply into the present culture than “technology”. Harnessing technology now in the area of DE will enable the church to multiply its effectiveness.
